There is no single best CLAT coaching institute in India, and you should be suspicious of any ranked list that says otherwise — including this page, which is published by a coaching institute. What we can usefully give you is the decision framework, the fee reality most sites will not print, and a straight account of where we fit. Full programmes run from roughly Rs 50,000 to over Rs 1,50,000. Ours is Rs 20,000 flat.
Why we are not giving you a numbered top-ten list
Almost every “best CLAT coaching in India” page is written by one of the institutes on the list, and the institute that wrote it is never ranked tenth. We used to publish a ranked list on this page too. We took it down, because ranking competitors we have never studied under, using selection figures we cannot verify, is not research — it is decoration.
What follows instead is the part that actually helps: what separates programmes, what they cost, and the questions that get you a straight answer from any institute you call.
What actually separates one CLAT programme from another
Five things move the needle. Everything else is marketing.
- Live teaching versus recordings. Recordings alone are cheap and easy to skip. Live classes create a timetable. The best arrangement is live sessions that are also recorded, so a missed class during board exams is a class you watch later rather than one you lose.
- How fast doubts actually get answered. Ask for the real turnaround, not the promise. A doubt that takes four days to resolve has already cost you the topic.
- Full-length mocks, and what happens after them. Ask how many full-length papers you sit, not the total test count. Then ask who goes through the analysis with you. Mocks without analysis are just expensive practice.
- Legal Reasoning and Current Affairs depth. These two carry roughly half the paper. A programme strong on English and Quant and thin here is not built for CLAT.
- Whether you can afford to finish. A programme you drop out of in month three because the second instalment landed is worse than one you complete.
What CLAT coaching actually costs in India
New: we checked six major CLAT institutes’ own websites and found only two publish a real programme fee. See CLAT coaching fees in India: who publishes, who hides.
Fee transparency in this industry is poor. Some institutes publish a plain number; many quote only on enquiry, which is why “law prep tutorial fees” and “legaledge fees” are searched hundreds of times a month. Here is what is publicly published, checked on 31 July 2026:

Figures are taken from each institute’s own website on 31 July 2026 and will change. We have deliberately not filled this table with numbers for every institute in the market, because we could not verify them, and inventing a competitor’s fee is worse than leaving a gap. Ask any institute you are considering for a written fee schedule covering the full course, including the test series and study material, and check whether it is a single payment or instalments that increase.
The distribution is worth sitting with. A full CLAT programme in India commonly costs somewhere between Rs 50,000 and Rs 1,50,000. One institute’s early-bird discount on a single batch is the same size as our entire fee.

Online or offline, for CLAT 2027
CLAT 2027 is on 6 December 2026, and applications open on 3 August 2026 — see our CLAT 2027 registration guide for the confirmed dates. That leaves roughly four months from the day the portal opens.
Offline suits students who need a room and a fixed timetable to work, and who have a genuinely good institute within commuting distance. Online suits students who can hold a schedule themselves, who want the class recorded, or who live somewhere the local options are thin. Neither is better in the abstract. Be honest about which describes you, because the wrong answer costs a year.

What changes outcomes is the fit between how a programme teaches and how you learn: live versus recorded, batch size, how quickly doubts get answered, how many full-length mocks you sit, and whether you can actually afford to finish the course. Shortlist three, sit a demo class at each, and ask every one of them for a written fee schedule before you pay anything.
How much does CLAT coaching cost in India?
Full-length programmes generally run from about Rs 50,000 to over Rs 1,50,000. CLATapult publishes Rs 50,000 for a four-month course and Rs 1,05,000 for a two-year programme. Law Prep Tutorial has advertised an early-bird discount of Rs 20,000 on its CLAT 2027 Elite Batch. Several large institutes do not publish fees at all and quote them only on enquiry. Lawgic charges Rs 20,000 flat for the complete programme.
Is online CLAT coaching as good as offline?
For most students, yes — with one condition. Online gives you recorded classes you can rewatch, no commute, and access to faculty who are not limited to your city. What it does not give you is a room full of people making you turn up. If you genuinely need external structure to study, be honest about that before you enrol anywhere, online or offline.
Do I need coaching to crack CLAT?
No. People clear CLAT through self-study every year, and CLAT rewards reading habits more than taught content. What coaching buys you is structure, a test series with reliable difficulty calibration, and someone to tell you which of your mistakes actually matter. If you are disciplined and have access to good mocks, self-study is a real option.
When should I join CLAT coaching for CLAT 2027?
CLAT 2027 is on 6 December 2026 and applications open on 3 August 2026. If you are starting now, you have roughly four months, which is enough to move a score substantially if the work is structured. Students beginning in Class 11 get the bigger advantage, mainly because Current Affairs rewards steady accumulation rather than cramming.
How many mock tests should a CLAT programme include?
Ask for the number of full-length mocks, not the total test count — sectional quizzes inflate the headline figure. A serious programme should give you a couple of dozen full-length papers under exam timing, and more importantly should sit down with you on the analysis. Mocks you do not analyse are just expensive practice.
